Questions
Every article on KindPlate is written by Mazhar Khan, MD. Not a team of writers, not a content agency, not AI output posted without review. If you are reading something on this site, a physician wrote it. This is the core editorial commitment that KindPlate is built on and will not compromise.
No. Reading KindPlate does not create a physician-patient relationship. The content on this site is physician-authored health information — not personalized medical advice for your specific situation. Always consult your physician or a qualified healthcare provider before making changes to your diet, medications, or treatment plan, especially if you have a medical condition.
Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means KindPlate may earn a small commission if you purchase through them. This comes at no extra cost to you. The full details of every current and pending affiliate relationship are on our Affiliate Disclosure page. The short version: we only recommend products the physician has personally used, and every affiliate link is labeled clearly near where it appears.
Guide topics come from three places: conditions I treat regularly in clinical practice, questions patients ask repeatedly that deserve a longer answer than an office visit allows, and gaps in the existing literature where physician-level specificity is missing from publicly available resources. I do not write a guide unless I would actually use it with a patient.
KindPlate does not accept sponsored content or paid placement of any kind. If a product is recommended on this site, it is because the physician uses it and believes it is worth recommending — not because a brand paid for the mention. Affiliate relationships (where a commission is earned on purchases) are the only commercial arrangement, and every affiliate link is labeled as such. KindPlate runs no display advertising.
The KindPlate brief is sent weekly. You will receive one email per week — physician-curated, evidence-cited, no advertising. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.

Because advertising creates a conflict of interest that is incompatible with physician-authored content. When a site runs ads, the business model depends on traffic volume and engagement, which incentivizes sensational headlines, clickbait framing, and content that keeps people coming back — not content that gives them accurate, complete information. KindPlate is funded by guide sales and affiliate commissions from products the physician has personally evaluated. That model keeps editorial independence intact.
